Rockem Sockem Robots for the Playstation Generation
What once was a childhood favorite and prized Christmas gift years ago has turned into a high-tech rumble held yearly at the Robo-One competition in Japan. One of the events is to build small robots that can perform precise fighting movements to defeat other robot opponents. The blog, Glosoli, posted a small story about this event with video of one of the fights. I have to say that when I started to watch the video, I thought it was going to be a couple of bots knocking each other over, but it was really quite cool with programmed movements right out a Tekken fighting game. All that is missing is the spring-loaded head.
