Kampai! This bot serves sake
You’re single and swinging, but when you entertain friends you don’t want to have to do all the serving yourself. What do you do? Turn to mechanicals, of course.
From UNIX Co. of Japan comes Hai-mochi Doll, a hand-crafted wind-up doll that serves sake. The mech is made from birch and chery wood, is dressed in a traditional Japanese kimono, and comes with a wooden saucer for the sake. Undoubtedly this is one high-class mechanical being, and a unique addition to the class of domestic robots.
As neat as this Karakuri doll is, I am always suspicious of robots that serve booze. I mean, what better way to get us to let down our guard than to get us drunk. Sure, the Hai-mochi Doll doesn’t have an electronic brain or anything, but it could be the perfect mole for the robot underground.
