Swarming, evolving, scheming bots
From DailyTech:
Imagine swarms of small robots, working together autonomously, forming ad hoc groups to accomplish tasks too big or complex for a single bot. That’s precisely what some Swiss scientists recently achieved after programming a group of robots to mimic the evolutionary process found in biological colonies of insects such as ants or bees.
Oh, I can imagine. Yes, I can imagine very well what will happen if there are thousands or millions of robots forming hives and collectives, coordinating their activities to achieve great aims. But now thanks to these “Swiss scientists” I don’t have to “imagine” it, I’ll get to live the eternal Hell of life as a human slave living under the sword of our overlord robot masters. Thanks a whole lot.
