WordPress Hacked, Danger Will Robinson!
If you use WordPress blogging software you’ve no doubt already seen the warning on your dashboard, but in case you haven’t the news is that the latest version has been compromised by a dirty cracker.
It seems that someone gained access to the WordPress servers a few days ago and added some malicious code to the 2.1.1 version recently released. The code allows for remote execution, so it could pose a serious threat to your server. If you downloaded and installed version 2.1.1 recently, go back to the WordPress site and download the fixed version 2.1.2. Overwrite all your existing files with the new version and you should be OK.
Yeah, it’s a pain in the arse, but better to be safe than let some jerk gain control of your server account.
