CS3: More software I won’t be able to afford
Adobe has officially released Creative Suite 3, the ultimate convergence of tried and true Adobe apps and new tools acquired from Macromedia. Great, now if the World Bank would see fit to advance me a little loan, maybe I could get a copy.
CS3 comes in a multitude of flavors tailored for designers, Web developers, and producers. The standard edition of CS3 Design comes packaged with InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat Pro and can be preordered now for just $1,200. (The upgrade is $240.) Of course, if you’re Warren Buffet and money is no object you might opt for the Master Collection, which comes with just about every piece of software ever made by Adobe and Macromedia, including Flash, Dreamweaver, Premier, After Effects, and Soundbooth. The price? If you have to ask . . . Actually, it’s $2,500 for the full edition, $1,400 for the upgrade.
If all these options are starting to make your head spin, hold on. Just check out Adobe’s product matrix, and you’ll go spiraling down a deep pit of jealous, admiring madness.
