More robots to get you drunk

While some researchers are out there pushing the boundaries of robot technology with bots that dance and warrior robots, some other people seem to know where the real money will be made with all these mechanical beasts: Robot’s that serve booze.

Now we’ve already seen the beer throwing robot (entertaining but better suited to frat houses), but in Japan they’ve taken a more urbane, albeit slower approach to the robotic bartender. Take a gander at this video showing the little contraption as it serves up an icy cold beer to a thirsty humanoid.

Yeah, the Asahi Robocco won’t win any prizes in bartending contest a la Cocktail, but it never asks for a tip either.
