Mick Keelty is our hero

Australian Federal Police Commissioner Mick KeeltyA lot of people out there have been taking the piss out of Australian Federal Police (AFP) Commissioner Mick Keelty for trying to alert the government and the people to the danger of the robot uprising, so we just wanted to offer Mr. Keelty our heartfelt support. He is a hero for taking a stand against the robot propaganda that has infiltrated the media and we applaud him for his efforts.

If you haven’t heard, Commissioner Keelty told a parliamentary inquiry recently that organized crime may in the future use robots or cyborgs to commit crimes and that police will need new techniques and equipment to combat this problem. Quite true: Imagine the “protection money” a crew could get if they had a small swarm of robots, or how easy if would be sending a robot to bust someone’s kneecap. Maybe the SciFi Channel should revive The Sopranos to explore this issue.

Okay, Commissioner Keelty might sound a little alrmist, especially the parts of his speech about cloning and “a cloned part-person, part-robot,” but he’s at least raising the issue of how we’re going to protect ourselves against the coming robot uprising, and for that we salute him.
