Wal-Mart Is Trying To Ruin MP3 Players
As if you needed me to tell you, don’t buy your MP3 player from Wal-Mart, unless you want to receive notes from the anti-tech underground or you want some pornography.
Apparently in Maryland someone purchased an iPod from a Wal-Mart in Germantown only to discover that the player had been removed from the box and replaced with a Unibomber-style note instructing the reader to “reclaim your mind from the media shackles.” iPods are pretty ubiquitous but I’ve never considered them as tools of the media elite to oppress the masses. Maybe they should start a podcast to get their message out.
Another incident took place at a Wal-Mart in Tennessee where an MP3 player purchased came pre-loaded with porn videos and explicit songs. Unfortunately it was given as a gift to a 10-year old girl who will probably not remember fondly this Christmas.
