Macworld Mania

For the Apple faithful out there — even n00bs like me — the Macworld Expo is like a second helping of Christmas: Santa Steve in his black turtleneck stands up there on the stage and wows us with the gift of new Apple products that we simply must have.

The run-up to the event each year is full of high expectations and rampant rumors of what Jobs will introduce, especially the now-famous “one more thing” that he always closes with. What new products will Apple grace us with in 2008? TUAW takes a stab at some predictions ranging from iTunes updates with the already leaked movie rental feature to a subnotebook computer. The thing I’m most hoping for a second generation Apple TV loaded with more features to make it a fully-rounded media center PC.

While we wait for the big show to start, keep yourself entertainment by playing SteveNote, a flash game in which you help Steve Jobs prepare for his keynote address. And during the keynote, you can check-off the attendees with the Macworld Celebrity Checklist from the Joy of Tech or play Macworld Bingo with a bingo card from Ars Technica.

Just a couple days away until we find out what the something is that’s in the air.
