Never at a loss for a reason to deploy an army of robots, the Japanese are hoping their cyborg buddies will help them avoid hay fever this year.
Tokyo-based Weathernews is set to unleash a flotilla of Pollen Bots that people can hang outside their homes to monitor the air quality. In typical Japanese fashion, the robots are simultaneously cute and creepy, with menacing eyes that glow a different color depending on the pollen count. The machines will also send data back to their mothership that the robot overlords will use to create biological weapons they will use during the robot uprising to update on online map of pollen conditions throughout the country.
